What We Do

Four Core Business Lines

01
Identification & Exploration
GNE conducts targeted mineral identification and exploration programmes with a strategic focus on the Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS) — one of the world's most prolific and underexplored geological terranes. Our exploration work spans geophysical surveys, sampling, and feasibility assessments, positioning GNE at the earliest and most value-generative stage of the mineral development cycle.
02
Mining & Production
GNE holds licensed mining concessions across the Arabian-Nubian Shield (ANS), covering a diverse portfolio of mineral assets at various stages of development — from active production sites to projects in feasibility and pre-development. We maintain warehousing on-site and at port, with integrated processing facilities that ensure a seamless, efficient path from extraction to export-ready product.
03
Commodity Trading
We source and trade strategic and critical minerals under structured offtake agreements, purchase orders, and annual supply contracts with buyers across Asia, Europe, and the Gulf. Our trading operations are underpinned by disciplined compliance, transparent pricing referenced to international benchmarks, and rigorous documentation.
04
Investment & JV Structuring
GNE actively pursues joint venture arrangements with international capital partners and development co-investors. We offer deal structuring, licensing advisory, and co-development partnerships across our mine portfolio — enabling investors to participate in early-stage mineral assets with the benefit of our established in-country presence and government relationships.
Commodities

Our Mineral
Portfolio

GNE's operations span a range of strategic and critical minerals sourced primarily from the Arabian-Nubian Shield — one of Africa's most mineral-rich and geologically significant terranes. Our commodity portfolio is aligned with global demand driven by clean energy, advanced electronics, and industrial applications. Where applicable, GNE offers value-added processing and refining services alongside raw ore supply.
Lithium
Battery Storage · EVs · Clean Energy
A cornerstone of GNE's portfolio, lithium is sourced from concessions in Ethiopia. Critical to the manufacture of lithium-ion batteries powering electric vehicles and renewable energy storage systems globally.
Copper
Infrastructure · Electrification · Industry
GNE supplies copper ore from concessions in both Ethiopia and Somaliland — one of the most critically demanded metals of the global energy transition. Beyond raw ore supply, GNE offers downstream refining and processing through its own facilities and partner network, enabling buyers to access finished copper cathodes where required.
Tantalum
Electronics · Aerospace · Semiconductors
GNE is an established supplier of tantalum with operational capacity in Ethiopia. A critical material in capacitors, medical devices, and advanced electronics supply chains worldwide.
Niobium
Steel · Superalloys · High-Tech
A high-value specialty metal used in high-strength steel alloys and superalloys for aerospace and automotive applications. Present across GNE's Ethiopian concession portfolio.
Gold
Monetary · Jewelry · Electronics
GNE has multiple gold-bearing assets in Ethiopia across placer and hard-rock deposits, operated in partnership with regional authorities and processed through licensed in-country facilities.
Specialty Minerals
REEs · Heavy Mineral Sands · Industrial
GNE's portfolio includes Rare Earth Elements (REEs) and Heavy Mineral Sands — both of growing strategic importance globally — alongside additional emerging mineral assets across our concession areas, reflecting our commitment to long-term, diversified resource development.
ESG Commitment

Responsible at Every
Stage

Environmental, Social, and Governance principles are not a box to tick at GNE — they are embedded in how we operate, who we partner with, and how we measure success.

The history of resource extraction in Africa has too often been marked by practices that exploit mineral-rich nations, leaving behind environmental harm and economic disparity. GNE was founded expressly to offer an alternative model.

We hold ourselves to rigorous international standards across all three ESG dimensions, and we welcome scrutiny from buyers, investors, and regulators alike.

E
Environmental
We adopt mining and logistics practices that minimize ecological footprint. Our operations are subject to environmental review, and we are committed to responsible land use, waste management, and progressive site rehabilitation across all active concessions.
S
Social
GNE invests directly in the communities surrounding our operations — through employment, skills development, infrastructure contributions, and transparent revenue-sharing arrangements with regional and federal authorities. Our workforce reflects the nations we operate in.
G
Governance
We operate with full regulatory compliance, anti-corruption controls, and KYC/AML policies across all trading activities. Our governance framework aligns with international due diligence standards including OECD guidelines for responsible mineral supply chains.

  • Conflict-free sourcing across all commodity lines
  • Full chain-of-custody documentation for all exports
